What is the Lynton Weight Loss Plan?
The Lynton Weight Loss Plan is a four-phase weight loss and maintenance programme. It helps to keep a person in optimal health whilst losing weight at a substantially faster rate than a conventional plan.To support the plan, foods have been developed with nutritionists, health care experts and Michelin-starred chefs to ensure maximum success with optimum taste and nutrition.
As well as all this, we guide you through the process during your weekly one-to-one session and aid weight lose through body toning treatments. We also run evening group sessions to enable to you share your journey with other clients and listen to guest speakers.

How does the plan work?
In Phases 1 and 2, we miminise carbohydrate intake, so that your body enters ketosis. During this process your body burns fat quickly and effectively, without also targeting your muscle mass. In regular low-calorie diets, muscle is burnt at a similar rate to fat, but the Lynton Weight Loss Plan is designed to allow you to maintain your muscle tissue whilst heathily losing fat. Ketosis helps to induce satiety........stop feelings of hunger (not hungry!)
Is the plan right for me?
The plan is for anyone who wants to lose weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. Most people can easily follow the four-phase plan, and we will use your BMI as a guide and our health questionnaire to establish which phase is the best starting place for you. As well as all this, we guide you through the process during your weekly one-to-one session and aid weight lose through body toning treatments. We also run evening group sessions to enable to you share your journey with other clients and listen to guest speakers.
What is BMI?
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a statistical measure of body weight calculated using either imperial or metric units based on a person's weight and height. Though it does not actually measure the percentage of body fat, it is used to estimate a healthy body weight based on a person's height. It is defined as the individual's body weight divided by the square of his or her height.40+ Obese (class 2)
30 + Obese (class 1)
25 + Overweight
20 < 24.9 Healthy range
To evaluate the percentage of body fat we use sophisticated body composition analysis equipment which provides detail on:
• Separate body mass readings for the right arm, left arm, trunk, right leg and left leg,
• Body Fat Percentage,
• Body Fat Mass,
• Body Mass Index (BMI),
• Fat Free Mass,
• Visceral Fat,
• Estimated Muscle Mass,
• Total Body Water,
• Basal Metabolic Rate and Metabolic Age.

What does each of the four phases involve and how long will I be on the plan?
* Phase 3 can be followed until you reach your goal weight** If you are male, have a BMI of over 40, or are very tall you may add one extra meal.
Vegetables and salads are encouraged during all phases.

Is the plan suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
Most foods are suitable for vegetarians but not for vegans as they contain egg derived ingredients. All the pre-packed weekly phase kits are vegetarian; the only foods to contain meat are things like the Chicken Soup & Paella.
What type of meals and foods are included in the programme?
The four-phase programme includes a range of meals from which the person can choose, including soups, omelettes, pancakes, pasta, muffins, bars, deserts and drinks in a variety of flavours, tastes and textures. We have a range of over 35 different foods and drinks and new ones are introduced at regular intervals.
Why can't I just use normal foods to lose weight instead of the Lynton foods?
By using the Lynton foods and method, we will help you lose weight from your fat mass and preserve your lean muscle mass. Protein foods will also keep you feeling fuller for longer so that planing is made easier for you. If you are just simply cutting calories you will lose weight from both your muscle and fat masses. However you don’t want to lose muscle. You will also not be getting your right daily doses of vitamins or minerals, however with Lynton foods, you will be.Our meals, coupled with our support and method can help you lose weight and change your eating habits.
Further to this, you don’t want to lose muscle mass. You will not be getting your correct daily doses of vitamins or minerals from just normal foods - with the Lynton plan all meals are nutrionally balanced to provide what your body needs.

What about exercise?
We encourage you to introduce exercise. However, during Phase 1 exercise is not recommended. Light exercise is OK during Phase 2. During Phase 3a and 3b, the recommendation is 2 hours each week, while in Phase 3c, 4 hours of exercise each week is recommended.
I've been invited out for a meal. What can I do?
Go out. But try to limit your carbohydrate intake (things like cakes and breads...) as much as possible to avoid disrupting the fat burning process. That is why Phase 2 & 3 suits so many people as it's easier to 'eat out'. Eat lean meat, fish, and eggs and try to portion-control your meal. Eat plenty of non-starchy vegetables & salads and enjoy yourself! Something like a chicken salad is ideal.
What support will I receive?
Lots! As well as regular check-ups with your clinician, you can phone for advice and encouragement, meet others on the plan at regular meetings at the clinic, use our chat room to share experiences and success, check out our Facebook community and come along to the programme of guest speakers covering topics as diverse as:• Body toning treatments
• Fitness Techniques,
• Meal Preparation from a guest chef,
• Personal Grooming,
• Maintaining your weight once your target has been reached
• and even events covering neuro-linguistic programming and transactional analysis to help change attitudes to food and eating habits.
